Description

Normand Road United Free Church, Dysart - Kirkcaldy and Dysart, Fife - Places of Worship in Scotland | SCHR

This congregation had started in Dysart as a Relief Church, with a church in Relief Street opening in 1772 (site  number 10679). In 1847 the church became United Presbyterian. By 1867 the congregation had outgrown the Relief Street premises and built a new church on Normand Road, which is still in use today. A hall was built on to the rear of the church in 1936. In 1900, the United Presbyterian Church joined with the Free Church to become United Free. When, in 1929, the majority of United Free churches rejoined with the Church of Scotland, the Normand Road church chose to remain United Free.   It is now closed.
